ABSTRACT

According to Rowena Schwartz, PharmD, BCOP, it is important to consider broad treatment options, both direct oral anticoagulants and older agents such as heparin, when treating patients with venous thromboembolism, as the newer agents may not be for everyone. Dr. Schwartz also reviewed how to monitor and assess patient response to anticoagulant treatment.
